The Victorian bush fires on Saturday the 7th of February 2009, had a devastating impact on communities, individuals, livestock and native animals. Sadly, the farming community experienced substantial loss of their livelihood, with pasture and stockfeed destroyed. In aid of these primary producers, Ridley Corporation partnered with the Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) to donate in excess of $100,000 worth of stockfeed.
Additional suppliers within the industry partnered with Ridley Corporation, offering donations of grain and freight, all of which have been used directly to manufacture feed and transport it to the much needed areas. With the support of our partners, the feed donation was in excess of 500 tones and was welcomed by the farming community and animal welfare groups in the fire affected regions.
Through Ridley AgriProducts and Cheetham Salt, Ridley Corporation makes significant financial contributions to charities, schools, local sporting clubs and universities across Australia. These contributions support many worthwhile activities, providing opportunities and education for a vast range of people in diverse regions.
