Health & Safety
It is Ridley’s aim to develop a culture that supports its health and safety values by encouraging behaviour and implementing processes that safeguard employees, contractors, visitors and the community from accidents and occupational illness. We strive to maintain our high standards of health and safety and to develop an effective, safety-minded organisation.
We shall ensure that health and safety standards are well defined and responsibilities are made clear through the implementation of a comprehensive Safety Management System. The active and effective involvement of employees in achieving our objectives is sought and encouraged.
To support our policy we are committed to the following set of beliefs and activities that:

- changes in our plant, systems or products shall be competently managed
- compliance with the law is our minimum standard
- training, equipment and resources shall be provided to allow all employees to be better able to understand their responsibilities and to recognise and understand risks so that the potential for injury is minimised
- safety rules protect everyone and must be complied with
- occupational rehabilitation will be provided
- workplace consultation on health and safety issues is an essential requirement to achieve our aims
- working safely is a condition of employment
