  • Fed in troughs as a total mixed ration with hay and/or silage and other ingredients as directed.
  • Rumevite Stud Pro Mash is suitable for feeding to cattle weighing greater than 120 kg liveweight. Cattle weighing less than 120 kg liveweight should be fed Barastoc Calf Rearer pellet or muesli until they reach this weight.
  • Before starting to feed Rumevite Stud Pro Mash ensure that the appropriate animal husbandry procedures are completed – consult a veterinarian for advice. Cattle should be drafted into groups of similar size and age.
  • Before starting to feed Rumevite Stud Pro Mash ensure that all cattle have been fed with palatable hay to appetite for the first day – ensure that all cattle are full with palatable hay.
  • Start feeding cattle with Rumevite Stud Pro Mash at a rate of 0.5 kg per 100 kg liveweight per day. Gradually increase the rate of feeding each day for the next 21 days up to the desired level of feeding, or up to 1.5 – 2.0 kg per 100 kg liveweight per day.
  • Rumevite Stud Pro Mash can either be fed in troughs or self-feeders.
  • When feeding Rumevite Stud Pro Mash in a self-feeder, trough or hand feeding, ensure that dry pasture, or palatable hay is readily available, and that cattle are able to eat this forage to appetite at all times.
  • When using self-feeders:
    – Adjust slide settings to help regulate feed intake and achieve recommended feeding rates.
    – The feeder slide should be set so that cattle have to lick the feed out from under the slide.
    – Stud cattle will require up to 35 cm of trough space per head, depending upon liveweight.
    – If using self-feeders in the paddock, locate feeders away from water sources to encourage grazing out. When pastures become grazed out the feeders should be moved to a new area, or hay provided in racks.
  • When using troughs:
    – Stud cattle will require up to 65 cm trough space per head, depending upon liveweight.
    – Hand feeding and when the higher levels of the Rumevite Stud Pro Mash is being offered at more than 1.5% of body weight.
  • Feed two to three times a day to reduce the risk of acidosis.
