Barastoc Lead-up Dairy Cubes

Pelleted transition feed formulated with anionic salts, providing pre-calving dairy cows the best possible start to the demanding calving and milk production phases.

Features & Benefits

  • Includes anionic salts to help modify the electrolyte balance of the diet. Incorrect electrolyte balance can increase the risk of hypocalcaemia (milk fever)
  • Energy sources include grains to help with rumen pre-conditioning and reduce the risk of impaired rumen function in early lactation
  • Includes high quality protein sources (e.g. canola meal, soybean meal, and pulses, etc.) to help boost protein reserves for early lactation
  • Palatable ingredients in a pelleted form to reduce separation and selection
  • Nutrient specification designed to maximise pre-calving cow health and to help minimise possible future health problems; e.g. poor feed intake after calving and metabolic disorders that can reduce milk yield and decrease reproductive performance
  • Supplies correct balance of minerals, trace elements and vitamins, to maintain the health and well-being of the high producing cow
  • Ingredients selected from cereal grains and cereal by-products, legumes and legume by-products, vegetable protein meals, molasses, fats and oils, minerals, trace elements and vitamins

Feeding Directions

  • Feed for a minimum of 14 days and a maximum of 4 weeks prior to calving.
  • Feed at a rate of 2-3 kg per cow per day alongside a fibre source suitable for transition cows.
  • If slow to start eating, blend with grain or silage to encourage intake.
  • Feed only to pre-calving cows. Do not feed after calving. Once cows have calved, a lactating dairy diet such as a Barastoc dairy feed should be fed.
  • Ensure fresh, clean drinking water is available.
  • For alternative feeding programmes consult your nutritionist or Ridley representative.
